Unsuccessful Voting Rights Act Lawsuit Against Lewisville ISD Wasn’t “Frivolous”

Ruling: Although a federal judge properly dismissed a voting rights lawsuit filed against an ISD, the judge was wrong in labeling the lawsuit as “frivolous” — which resulted in the judge awarding the ISD’s attorneys too much in legal fees. Frank Vaughan [and two attorneys and a law firm] v. Lewisville ISD, No. 22-40057. Issued March 9 by the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ordered “published.”
