$100K Bond set for ISD Superintendent Arrested for “Solicitation of a Minor” in Sting Operation

Harris County media reported that a judge in Houston set a $100,000 bond this morning for the Texas school district superintendent who is charged with online solicitation of a minor.
Michael Stevens — the 47-year-old superintendent of the ok 651-student Itasca ISD — is accused of communicating online with an undercover officer, who Stevens believed was a 15-year-old girl in Houston. He was arrested on the campus of Itasca High School on June 1.
Authorities said some of the superintendent’s explicit photos of himself appeared to have been taken in his office, and that Stevens was planning to go to Houston to engage in sex acts with the person he thought was a 15-year-old girl.
Itasca is about 45 miles south of Fort Worth, and is about 230 miles from Houston.

A judge stipulated that if Stevens is able to post bond, he must submit to random drug testing, can’t have any contact with anyone under 17 years old, and must install software on his computer that monitors his activity.
Stevens was one of seven people to be arrested in the Internet Crimes Against Children solicitation sting involving Harris County law enforcement agencies.
Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen, on his Facebook page, reported the explicit details leading to the arrest of the superintendent.
Itasca ISD issued a statement on its web page stating that it was aware of Stevens being arrested, and that the school board would be meeting “to review this matter and take appropriate action.”
