All Students, Faculty, Staff and Alumni at Every UT Academic Campus now have Access to Free “Microcredential” Program

Texas Credential for the Future

The UT System and Coursera this month launched what is billed as the most comprehensive industry recognized microcredential program in the country that will be available at no charge to all students enrolled in the system’s academic campuses — as well as to faculty, staff and alumni of those campuses.

As a part of the UT System’s Texas Credentials for the Future initiative, approximately 240,000 learners across nine UT campuses now have access to the Career Academy on Coursera, which includes more than 35 entry level professional certificates from leading companies such as Google, IBM, Microsoft and Salesforce.

The expanded partnership represents the most extensive industry recognized microcredential program offered by a U.S. university system, according to a press release.

The system’s academic campuses are UT Austin, UT Arlington, UT Dallas, UT El Paso, UT Permian Basin, UT Rio Grande Valley, UT San Antonio, Stephen F. Austin State University and UT Tyler.
