Course Guide Tracks Transferable Math Credits Among Texas Public Colleges/Universities
The Charles A Dana Center at UT Austin has posted information (including a video) about the Texas Transfer Inventory Guide.
The guide is designed to help ensure students don’t lose math credits when transferring between Texas higher-ed institutions — especially when transferring from community colleges to four-year institutions.
The guide allows Texas students, parents, advisors, and educators easy access to an accurate data set without having to scavenge for unreliable or outdated information.
The guide analyzes credit transferability for math course requirements across thousands of degree programs at 37 Texas colleges and universities.
The guide is expected to play a major role in the implementation of the HB8 legislation this year that (among other things) bases community college funding on performance measures (instead of on enrollment).
One of the HB8 required performance measures tracks the number of students who ultimately transfer from community colleges to four-year universities.
