Question About School Marshals Posed to Acting Attorney General

Whether school boards — under specific provisions of the Texas Education Code — may allow their authorized uniformed school marshals to “duty belt carry” their firearm is the topic of a request (RQ-0007-AC) for an opinion submitted to the acting state attorney general this week.

The request was submitted by state Sen. Brian Birdwell, R-Granbury.
