UIL Posts Info About “Residence Rule” Revision
The UIL has posted info about a revision to the athletics participation related “Residence in School District and Attendance Zone” rule that became effective on Oct. 30.
The rule change:
- Provides for exceptions to the residency rule for children of parents (who meet specified criteria) who are either: 1) service members (military), 2) peace officers or 3) employed in a SBEC certified position.
- Is authorized under recent legislation.
