TEA Releases Final 2022-23 ISD and Charter Fiscal Ratings
The TEA today released the final 2022-23 School (ISD) and Charter Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) accountability ratings for Texas public school systems (summarized in this table):
Districts and Charters with final F = Substandard Achievement Ratings
(following appeals from their preliminary ratings):
- Eight (0.79 percent) out of 1,018 ISDs: 1) Holliday, 2) Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco, 3) Keene, 4) Priddy, 5) Denver City, 6) Tioga, 7) Matagorda and 8) Sunray. (No change from the preliminary ratings)
- Three (1.7 percent) out of 174 non-university charters: 1) Education Center International Academy, 2) St. Anthony School and 3) Texas Preparatory School.
- These five charters (with their final ratings) raised their preliminary F rating to passing:
- A – Dr. M L Garza-Gonzalez Charter School
- A – Midland Academy Charter School
- B – Accelerated Intermediate Academy
- C – Raul Yzaguirre Schools for Success
- C – Katherine Anne Porter School
- These five charters (with their final ratings) raised their preliminary F rating to passing:
- One (14 percent) out of seven university charters — that are rated on a “pass/fail” basis — received a final “Fail” rating: University of Texas Permian Basin Stem Academy. (No change from the preliminary ratings)
