Texas Students Encouraged to Enter National Geographic’s “Slingshot Challenge” Video Contest

Texas A&M Agrilife and its affiliated Texas Water Resources Institute (TWRI) invite Texas students and educators to participate in the 2023-24 National Geographic Slingshot Challenge video contest.

Last year, a Houston area student received multiple “Slingshot” recognitions for this video.

The competition requires students from 13 to 18 years old to submit up-to-one-minute videos on environmental topics for the opportunity to win recognitions and awards that include up to $10,000 in funding.

The National Geographic Society provided funding to the TWRI to support the program in Texas.

Last year, hundreds of Texas students submitted videos for the competition.

Videos must be submitted by Feb. 1.
