Final November SBOE Races Set with Tuesday’s Republican Primary Run-Off Wins by Tom Maynard and Pam Little

A summary of the SBOE races.

Current State Board of Education (SBOE) members Tom Maynard, R-Florence (a retired educator/rancher), and business owner Pam Little, R-Fairview, won their respective party primary run-offs on Tuesday, thus finalizing the list of candidates who will be on the Nov. 5, 2024, general election ballots to fill seven expiring SBOE seats.

The unofficial results reflected that:

  • Maynard beat Round Rock ISD board member Mary Bone with 52 percent of the vote in his SBOE District 10 run-off race.
  • Little beat real estate agent Jamie Kohlmann with 51 percent of the vote in her SBOE District 12 run-off race.

Both Bone and Kohlmann challenged Maynard and Little from an activist standpoint, citing the need to end destructive leftist policies in schools in their campaigns, according to Texas Scorecard.
