TEA Seeks Applicants for Listing in First-Ever School Safety Vendor Technology Directory
The TEA has begun accepting applications from vendors seeking to be listed in the first School Safety Vendor Technology Directory.
- Background: State law (Texas Education Code §48.115) requires the TEA to publish a directory of approved vendors of school safety technology and equipment a school district may select from when using school safety allotment funds.
A district is not required to purchase school safety technology/equipment from a TEA approved vendor. But, if a district chooses to purchase school safety technology/equipment from a vendor that is not listed in the directory, the district must solicit bids from at least three vendors before completing the purchase.
The application window closes on Aug. 23. The directory will be posted on the TEA’s website once the review process is complete.
