Gov. Abbott Appoints Atlanta ISD’s Laronda Graf to TRS Board

Gov. Abbott announced today that he has appointed Laronda Graf to the TRS board for a term to expire Aug. 31, 2029.

Graf is Atlanta ISD’s human resources director, and is now in her 22nd year in public education employment.

The governor selected Graf from the top three vote getters among the five candidates running for the at-large TRS board position voted on by TRS retirees and TRS-member employees of public education and higher-ed entities.

Graf replaces long-time board member Nanette Sissney, a retired Whitesboro ISD teacher/counselor (and a former Texas Classroom Teachers Association president) who most recently served as the board’s vice chair. Sissney did not seek reappointment to the board.
