New “Humanities Texas” Rural Grants Initiative

Humanities Texas has announced the February 2025 launch of a new grant initiative for organizations based in counties of 45,000 residents or fewer.

Eligible organizations include (but are not limited to) school districts, community colleges, museums, libraries, cultural centers, historical associations, city governments and county judge offices.

The initiative will assist educational, historical and cultural organizations in offering public humanities programs to rural communities throughout the state.

The initiative features:

  • A streamlined application.
  • Awards of up to $2,500.
  • A no cost-share requirement.
  • Year-round availability with a rolling deadline.
  • Award decisions within ten business days.
  • Live support and technical assistance.
