Seven Charter Applicants Advance

Seven applicants — under the TEA’s traditional approval cycle — remain in the running for new charter districts seeking to open in Texas no earlier than SY 2026-27.

  • Note: We’ll have an update soon on last week’s State Board of Education meeting, in which the board voted to “not veto” the education commissioner’s selection of the “fast-tracked” application by a Florida charter operator to open a Mater San Antonio Academy charter district.
