Senate Sends $1 Billion Voucher Bill to Governor’s Desk

The Texas Senate late Thursday afternoon (April 24) took the final step required to send the $1 billion private school voucher bill to the governor’s desk.

The Senate essentially rubber stamped — by making no changes to — the version of SB2 that the House had passed on April 17 (see this Fiscal Note for a summary of the bill as first passed by the House and then the Senate).
