The UIL has posted the agendas for the league’s day long Legislative Council meeting that starts at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Westin Austin at the Domain.

The morning kicks off with the council hearing public testimony from more than 30 speakers, including representatives of the major athletic coaches associations and advocates of proposals to add additional league sanctioned activities — such as girls flag football, bowling, boys volleyball, ballet folklórico, lacrosse, drones, table tennis, etc.

  • Note: The list of scheduled speakers and their topics is included in the agenda. The council also typically allots time for unscheduled speakers.

The afternoon sessions include standing committee meetings (academic, music, athletic and policy) during which these and numerous other contest rule and/or policy changes will be considered.

Finally, the entire council will reconvene once again to hear the reports of the standing committees, vote on recommendations by the standing committees, elect officers, approve the league’s budget for the upcoming school year — and most likely say fond farewells to UIL Executive Director Emeritus Charles Breithaupt, whose retirement becomes official at the end of August.

The meeting (except for the standing committee meetings) will be livestreamed and archived here for later viewing.
