Top TASA/TASB 2025 Convention Awards

These major awards were announced or recognized during the just concluded txEDCON25 (a/k/a the Texas Association of School Administrators/Texas Association of School Boards [TASA/TASB]) convention in Houston:

2025 Superintendent of the Year

Lamar CISD Superintendent Dr. Roosevelt Nivens is TASB’s 2025 Superintendent of the Year.

The other finalist superintendents for the award were: 1) Eddie Hesseltine (Orange Grove), 2) Colin Howeth (Knox City-O’Brien), 3) Lori Rapp (Lewisville) and 4) Kurt Ashmore (Wellington).

2025 Outstanding School Board

The Colorado ISD school board is TASA’s 2025 Outstanding School Board.

The finalists for the award were the: 1) Galena Park, 2) Memphis, 3) Plano and 4) Temple school boards.

2025 Key Communicator

The Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) recognized Temple ISD Superintendent Dr. Bobby Ott as its 2025 Key Communicator.
