TASB/TASA Reports SY 2025-26 ISD Superintendent Compensation Survey Highlights

The Texas Association of School Boards/Texas Association of School Administrators (TASB/TASA) this week posted highlights of its SY 2025-26 ISD superintendent compensation survey.

The data reflects that the median ISD superintendent salary is $156,818, a 2.3 percent increase from last school year.

The average ISD superintendent pay reported for this school year is $181,636.

A total of 746 (74 percent) of the state’s 1,014 ISDs had returned the survey by Oct. 23, 2025. Part-time and interim superintendents are not included.
