Four SBOE Members Not Seeking Re-Election
Four current SBOE members (one Democrat and three Republicans) are not seeking re-election for new terms starting Jan. 1, 2027.
SBOE members not seeking re-election via their respective March 2026 party primaries as of last week’s filing deadline, according to unofficial sources, are:

- Dist. 6: Will Hickman (Houston)
- Dist. 9: Keven Ellis (Lufkin)
- Dist. 14: Evelyn Brooks (Frisco)
Meanwhile, four other SBOE members (also one Democrat and three Republicans) are seeking re-election via their party primaries (see box below).
