Texan Named “National Superintendent of the Year”
Lamar CISD Superintendent Roosevelt Nivens has been named the 2026 National Superintendent of the Year, an award given by AASA, The School Superintendents Association.
Nivens is the Texas Association of School Administrators president-elect, and is the first Texas superintendent in 25 years (and the second ever) to receive the top honors in the nation.
He is also the Texas Association of School Boards’ 2025 Texas Superintendent of the Year.
