Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program

The Academic Year 2026-27 appointment process has opened for students to receive annual $30,000 scholarships while training to serve in the military.
Students must be appointed by a Texas state senator, state representative, the governor, or lieutenant governor to receive a scholarship. Each legislator can appoint one student, and the governor and lieutenant governor can each appoint two students.
A total of 185 scholarship appointments can be made for the next academic year, and scholarship appointments must be submitted by Sept. 30, 2026.
HB300, passed during the 2025 legislative session, strengthened the Texas Armed Services Scholarship program by doubling the annual award to $30,000 and expanding eligibility to include qualifying graduate students.
Additional eligibility requirements, including academic criteria, can be found on the scholarship webpage.
