Governor Reappoints Aaron Kinsey as SBOE Chair

Gov. Abbott announced today (April 2, 2026) he has reappointed Aaron Kinsey, R-Midland, as State Board of Education (SBOE) chair for a term expiring April 1, 2028.

Kinsey was elected to the SBOE in November 2022 and was appointed the board’s chair by Gov. Abbott in December 2023.

Kinsey was re-elected to the board in November 2024.
