TEA Appoints Lake Worth ISD’s Superintendent & Board of Managers

The TEA today (April 23, 2026) announced the appointment of a new superintendent and a five-member board of managers to oversee the operations of the 3,169-student Lake Worth ISD.

Education Commissioner Mike Morath named Dr. Ena Meyers as the district’s new superintendent, who will begin working immediately under a 21-day interim contract, pending formal approval by the board of managers that Morath also appointed.
The TEA’s press release says Meyers is a lifelong public educator with more than two decades of experience supporting students, teachers and school communities across Texas. She has served as a classroom teacher, campus principal, and, most recently, Deputy Chief of Strategic Initiatives at Houston ISD.
Morath — in December 2025 — announced the TEA would take over Lake Worth ISD after the district’s Marilyn Miller Language Academy received an unacceptable accountability rating for five consecutive years.
