Background
Joe Martin Bravo, a middle-aged Hispanic-American teacher of Mexican descent, began teaching career and technical education at Quintanilla Middle School within Dallas ISD (DISD) in 2015. For nearly seven years, his record was uneventful — favorable evaluations, annual contract renewals, no disciplinary issues.
That changed in April 2022 — when six students accused him of making racially insensitive remarks about their future educational and career prospects.
