Top Texas Teacher, Superintendent and School Board Finalists
The Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) and the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) recently announced the finalists for their top awards to be announced in October.
Texas Teachers of the Year
TASA announced the six outstanding educators from across Texas who were chosen as the finalists in the 2027 Texas Teacher of the Year program.
The selection process will culminate with the announcement of the state’s Elementary Teacher of the Year and Secondary Teacher of the Year at an Oct. 16 awards banquet, and the designation of one of them to represent Texas in the National Teacher of the Year program.
Regional Teachers of the Year will also be recognized at the banquet.
Texas Superintendent of the Year
TASB will announce its 2026 Texas Superintendent of the Year Award recipient, from these five finalists, at the joint TASA/TASB convention on Oct. 10 in Houston — and will recognize the regional finalists as well.
Outstanding Texas School Board
TASA will announce the 2026 Outstanding School Board on Oct. 9 at the joint TASA/TASB convention in Houston from these five school districts that were named Honor Boards. Regional Honor Boards will also be recognized.
