The Texas Supreme Court (TSC) announced Friday (Sept. 4, 2026) that it has accepted an appeal in a dispute over if Highland Park ISD (Dallas County) can withhold an accounting firm’s report that was commissioned by an attorney that HPISD hired to investigate alleged tennis center financial irregularities.

Background

The dispute involves the up-to-now failed efforts by the conservative Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) to obtain a financial audit pertaining to an investigation of publicly circulating allegations that employees at the district’s Seay Tennis Center were illegally profiting from their mishandling of the center’s financial operations.
