Two Texas Elementary Student Art Contests to Award Fabulous Prizes

These two state-agency sponsored art contests kicked off this month for Texas public, charter, private and homeschooled students.

2026 Treasures of the Texas Coast Children’s Art Contest

  • Sponsor: Texas General Land Office.

  • Eligibility: Students in grades K to 6.

  • Prizes: A six-to-eight-night Caribbean cruise (for two) for the grand prize winner, and a $100 art supply gift card for the winner’s teacher.

  • New This Year: All teachers submitting qualified artwork from five or more students, with completed entry forms and eligible art entries, will be entered into a random drawing to receive one six-to-eight-night Caribbean cruise for two.

  • Plus: Various prizes will be awarded to other student winners.

  • Deadline: March 4.

2026 Take Care of Texas Art Contest

  • Sponsor: Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

  • Eligibility: Students in grades K to 5.

  • Prizes: 1) A laptop for each of the three grade-category grand prize winners, 2) iPads for three runner-ups and 3) an iPad (or equal-value gift card) for a teacher chosen at random.

  • Deadline: March 5.
